Our Heritage & Terroir

Azienda Agricola La Querce sits on the hill overlooking Impruneta, in the heart of Chianti Colli Fiorentini. The estate covers forty-two hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Work is organised between tradition and innovation, limiting chemical interventions to seek balance between soil and plant. Soils are medium-textured tending to clayey; much of the land faces south in the Sorrettole valley, with sun exposure and light breezes at harvest. La Querce describes itself as a certified organic farm, attentive to environmental themes and sustainable production. Vineyards extend for about eight hectares, mostly south-facing, replanted in recent years with traditional Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino, and with Merlot, trained cordone speronato. Two cellars serve vinification (temperature-controlled stainless steel) and ageing (including barriques under the villa), plus bottle storage. On the products page, Gino Marchi’s goal when he bought the farm in the 1960s was quality; today Massimo Marchi works with the family and staff coordinated by Marco Ferretti. Wines named on the official site include Chianti Colli Fiorentini Riserva La Torretta, Chianti Colli Fiorentini Sorrettole, Toscana IGT La Querce, Toscana IGT “M” (Merlot, exceptional vintages only), Toscana IGT Terra diVino (amphora), Belrosso (Canaiolo), Rosa di Maggio (rosé), Dama Rosa (passito), plus grappa and extra-virgin olive oil.
