There is one person behind this
MyVinoSource is run from Hong Kong by Anthony Yau. He has spent over a decade importing and selling wine in Asia, and still does — the buying desk that inspired this platform is his own.
The reason this exists is simple. Estates write to importers every week asking for representation, and almost none of those messages get a reply, because no single importer can take on more than a handful of new producers a year. That is a poor outcome for everyone.
This is not an attempt to cut agents out. Good agents are how a great many estates reach Asia at all. What is missing is a record of who actually holds a mandate — so an estate can say who speaks for it, and a buyer can tell the difference between someone who was asked and someone who was not. Estates name their representatives on their own page, and we publish it.
If you have a question about your estate's profile, a claim that is taking too long, or whether this is worth your time, write to Anthony directly. A person answers.
The obvious conflict, stated plainly
The person running this buys wine for a living in Hong Kong. You are entitled to wonder whether that is a problem, so here is the standing rule: his own buying business is entirely separate from MyVinoSource, gets no early sight of anything listed here, no advantage in search or placement, and no access to data other buyers cannot see. If you ever find evidence otherwise, write and say so — that is a promise worth holding us to.
Before you write
Most questions — cost, commission, who sees your prices, what happens to your data — are answered on the FAQ page. If you want to see what buyers are asking for right now, the sourcing board is open to everyone, no account needed.
